Dragon Ball Super has Earth’s five best fighters set for Champa’s tournament. Now it’s time for Bulma to locate the Super Dragon Balls as insurance!
On the last episode of Dragon Ball Super, Goku and Vegeta recruited a reluctant Majin Buu to join them as one of the elite fighters on the 7th Universe team. Though Buu despises Lord Beerus, particularly after trying to get between Buu and his food, he said yes… After Goku promises him a wish from the mythical Super Dragon Balls! Which Buu plans to give to his pal Mr. Satan.
Buu is locked in at #4 along with Goku, Vegeta, and Monaka (a fighter Beerus claims was his toughest adversary). Goku is disappointed to not the be the best Beerus has faced, yet excited at the prospect of meeting a fresh unknown challenger. Piccolo is the final team member, recruited after Gohan turns down his spot for a business meeting at work on the day of the epic tournament.
Goku suggests Vegeta and Piccolo train with him in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for the remaining 3 days before the tournament (equivalent to 3 years of training).
Piccolo turns down the offer citing ‘already having learned the folly of trying to keep up with a Saiyan’, preferring to ‘spend the time alone getting focused for battle’. At first Vegeta is iffy about the idea, stating they’ll get only marginally better.
Goku quickly sways Vegeta’s mind, saying Beerus said Monaka is better than them but not how much better, and he can just get better alone then. Hearing the words Goku getting better was all it took for Vegeta to put in his three years.
Cable subscribers can catch the last episode on Adult Swim’s Dragon Ball Super website stream.
Playing chess with the Super Dragon Balls
Meanwhile, Bulma is uneasy about Beerus’ potential grand plan with the Super Dragon Balls or even a spontaneous spur of the moment act as the universe’s Destroyer.
The smirk at the end of episode 29 (“Combat Matches Are a Go! The Captain is Someone Stronger Than Goku”) by Beerus when he remarks about wiping out existence puts Bulma on edge. Though Goku thinks Beerus was just joking. Vegeta backs up Goku’s sentiment. Both of them drunk on the idea of a tournament with a whole new galaxy, and the wonders of future training on Beerus’ planet.
Fun Fact: When Bulma calls upon the dragon Shenron originally to locate the Super Dragon Balls, Goku remembers he was supposed to wish someone back to life but can’t remember. That someone was King Kai!
At the same time, Beerus and Whis themselves ponder what his twin brother Champa has to gain with this tournament. What is Champa’s endgame? Beerus subtly questions Whis if he’s training Goku and Vegeta to defeat him, drawing a ‘no, my lord’ but a look to the side from Whis.
Dragon Ball Super S01E31 Trailer (Next Episode)
On the next Dragon Ball Super, Bulma asks for galactic policeman Jaco if he he can take her to the center of the universe. Since the Super Dragon Ball radar can only pick up their presence there if they so exist. Jaco claims a mysterious figure named Master Zuno is the one to see for such an endeavor. Jaco remarks that Zuno knows everything, an all-knowing being.
Vegeta in a rare display of relationship feelings warns Jaco ‘not to try any funny business with his wife’. Needless to say, Jaco won’t be getting sleep anytime soon.

Dragon Ball Super had Goku losing his Super Saiyan God status mid-fight with Lord Beerus… Yet Goku will push on and fight, despite not being a deity.
On the last episode of Dragon Ball Super, the Super Saiyan God ritual was revealed to be time-limited. Goku had been going punch to punch with Lord Beerus, pressuring Beerus to unleash more of his true power. For a moment, it looked like Goku’s Super Saiyan God status would allow him to finally eclipse Beerus the Destroyer.
Then it happened, the red glow of the ritual along with the red hair and eyes evaporated. Right back to regular old Super Saiyan status. For the first time, the rest of the group could sense his power. Goku’s divinity was officially gone… Yet, something remained.
Beerus’ assistant Whis would gloat over his Sushi takeaway as something to remember the planet by. Casually informing the group it’s over. Piccolo would get more than a bit agitated with Whis, grabbing his arm. A scuffle was about to occur with Whis showing uncharacteristic anger telling Piccolo to ‘remove his arm immediately’.
Vegeta Sends A Silent but Positive Message
The ever silent Vegeta, who had been staring up at the sky since the fight began, shot a quick energy blast at Piccolo’s feet. Momentarily, Piccolo yells at Vegeta, “What was that for?!”, when he realizes it was a signal. Vegeta wasn’t intending to hurt Piccolo but rather clue him in that Goku’s fight wasn’t over yet.
Indeed it wasn’t. Despite losing his deity status, Goku was still able to land hit after hit on Beerus while evading Beerus’ attacks. Goku had not even realized he was back to being an ordinary Super Saiyan.
Goku became furious Beerus was speaking to him as if the fight was over when Beerus told him he was no longer a Super Saiyan God, time’s up. Goku said he hadn’t noticed and asked Beerus how it was possible. Beerus then explained to Goku and the audience alike that Goku’s body must have retained its knowledge of how it fought in its Super Saiyan God form. Time will tell if that will be enough to competitively challenge Beerus.
Dragon Ball Super S01E14 Trailer
On the next Dragon Ball Super, we see Beerus getting more hits in than before now that Goku is back to a Super Saiyan. However, unlike before Goku’s Super Saiyan God form those hits are not fight enders any longer. Meaning Goku is not going down by a flick of a finger any longer or being thrown into the ocean.
Goku is still maintaining competitive form, and matching Beerus. In fact, when Beerus shoots an energy blast thinking he finished Goku, laughing, he gets surprised by Goku being more than just fine.
Delivering a classic Kamehameha, while exclaiming ‘think again’ at an overconfident Beerus celebrating what he thought was a victory. It looks like we’re in for another action-packed Dragon Ball Super, a great trend as of late.

Dragon Ball Super’s whole universe faces imminent destruction if the Kai’s predication is correct. Yet, nothing will stop Goku and Lord Beerus’ epic battle.
On the last episode of Dragon Ball Super, Lord Beerus stopped merely toying with Goku as his Super Saiyan God powers grew with every moment. Prompting Beerus to consider the fact Goku was trying out new maneuvers while battling with the Destroyer. Each tied hit between Goku and Beerus creating shockwaves across the universe akin to an earthquake across the galaxy.
Old Kai remarked that the universe could only take 3 shockwaves, 2 to be safe before the entire universe including Goku and Beerus would be destroyed. Well, after one stunning Beerus purple energy shot collided with Goku’s Kamehameha, we’re now up to four. The episode ended with the whole universe seeing a white blinding light, signaling the end maybe moments away.
Meanwhile, the Super Saiyan God ritual has drained Gohan and Goten of their energy to fly and Vegeta stares up in the sky to watch the fight. Mr. Satan was almost pummeled by Bulma’s ship before being saved by Beerus’ assistant Whis. The ever calm Whis tells Mr. Satan, Beerus will keep his word if Goku wins and not destroy Earth, but in short no, his planet is not safe.
Dragon Ball Super S01E13 Trailer
On tonight’s episode of Dragon Ball Super, we find out if Goku and Lord Beerus’ latest energy blasts are truly the beginning of the end. Rather, just the end. Even if this latest blast does not fully destroy the universe, there will clearly be dire consequences as Goku’s ability seems to be hitting new peaks with every challenge. Which in return is prompting Beerus to use even more of his own power.
Neither of the two can be reasoned with despite calls from Kibito Kai to both Beerus and Goku to stop the fighting. The only one who can put an end to this challenge, at least temporarily, is Beerus and his own desire to retain a competitive rival… That said, with Beerus always giving in to his impulses and getting bored easily, long term goals might go flying out the window.

Dragon Ball Super had Goku finally becoming a Super Saiyan God just in time to spar with Lord Beerus. Goku himself, not fully aware of his potential yet.
It finally happened, Goku joined the ranks of the divine and the celestial. A real, legit Super Saiyan God. All it took was six saiyans with pure hearts joining hands together to transfer their powers to one. Goku’s hair turned a shade of hot pink for the occasion, as no transformation is complete without a new hairstyle. Now Goku appears more enthusiastic about the thrill of a new challenge than the Earth’s well being necessarily. Piccolo even alludes to this when he tells Goku to be careful not to make them into collateral damage after an inadvertent Kamehameha blast.
Meanwhile, Gohan instinctively knows his father’s power will rise with every minute the battle continues. Despite Goku not landing a single hit just like before. Then the moment arrives… Gohan is proven right.
For the first time, Goku manages to land a few hits on Beerus and even blocks incoming attacks. His fighting carefree rather than focused, almost like he just opened up a shiny new toy. Neither Goku or Beerus appear to be taking the battle seriously yet, briefly sparring in what Beerus calls preliminary tests. In an uncharacteristic Vegeta moment, he smirks when Goku actually grazes and hits Beerus on the cheek. It seems his envy is waning as a past Vegeta would be furious over his rival becoming stronger.
Bulma takes the gang up in her flying ship to watch the fight as saiyans, nameks, androids, and earthlings look more mortal than ever before. As Whis explains, the reason they can’t sense Goku any longer is because that’s a mortal trait. Now that Goku has joined the divine as a Super Saiyan God, he is on a whole different level. King Kai is shown running around his planet in a frenzy troubled of this new fact, seeing it as a problem rather than victory. For reasons not yet known, King Kai did not want any of this to happen.
Dragon Ball Super S01E11 Trailer
On tonight’s Dragon Ball Super on Toonami, Beerus continues to prod Goku to reveal more and more of his power. Old kai discusses Beerus toying with Goku in order to have someone to fight with all of his might. Just to inevitably crush the challenger in theory. Old kai explains Beerus is doing this for his own amusement, for fun rather than a serious purpose. Meanwhile, Goku’s carefree attitude with his Super Saiyan God form will either lead Beerus off-guard or a decisive loss at the hands of Beerus. Either way the Earth is in danger with two mighty unrelenting deity warriors fighting at full power.

Dragon Ball Super sees the return of Shenron tonight as Goku and gang call up their last wildcard to prevent Lord Beerus from destroying Earth.
It was an epic game of rock-paper-scissors on last week’s Dragon Ball Super with the Earth’s fate hanging in the balance. Lord Beerus decided to play a cowering Oolong out of all choices for the ultimate game of random chance. After two rounds ended in a tie with both sides throwing scissors Beerus was growing ever impatient. Piccolo felt the ties were only worsening Beerus’ mood and would end up in Earth’s destruction anyway. Then it happened Oolong threw another pair of scissors only to lose to Beerus’ rock breaking the tie to the surreal shock for everybody on board the cruise-liner.
Vegeta had given everything he had in Super Saiyan form to start the episode causing Beerus to use close to 10% of his power but falling all the same. Krillin asked Piccolo if they all tried to fight back together if they could overpower Beerus only to be shot down, told “It would be no use”. As everyone prepared for imminent destruction at the hands of Beerus, none other than Goku showed up.
He asked Beerus calmly if he could give them a bit more time to discover this Super Saiyan God and that he knew a way. Beerus relented, citing if he woke from his nap after so long he could wait a bit longer. The ace in the hole Goku spoke of was the Dragon Balls Goku believed to be on board. Now the Earth and the entire solar system’s destiny lies in Shenron.
